Other Adoption news:

My Blog friend Kristy (from AL)finally made the wait list!!!!!

After a very long wait, Chuck and Amy(from TN) are traveling this weekend to pick up their son "Morgan". They will have Morgan in their arms this time next week!!

There are several other families traveling, so follow along their journey (see JOH Blog list on side bar).

There has been zero girl referrals this month. We had an exciting August, with 6 girl referrals. My thought and prayers are with those waiting, as well as all those birth moms.

SEPTEMBER NEWS.

So far the first half of September has been a busy month. Unfortunately for my JOH blog friends waiting on referrals, it has been one slow month. Only one boy referral so far. There was a big typhoon in Taiwan, so I hope everyone is safe. One month down maybe 5 more till we go to Taiwan.

Life goes on.... Here's the exciting news from the Couey's...

Getting ready for Brooke....I have wanted to have my living room painted for about two years. We can check that off our list. Andrew has decided to take the "playroom" as his bedroom so we moved his things and Byron built him a loft bed. Now we will have to paint Brooke's room (it's blue).

Andrew had a special friend visit each night for about two weeks. ONE HUGE SPIDER. Byron and Andrew both fear spiders. Only a few nightmares those two weeks. It's gone now.

Also, on Friday gas suddenly went from $3.50 a gallon to over $5.00 in some places. (due to hurricane IKE). I think Ike turned into Yikes!!! I was able to fill up for the bargain rate of $3.99. Some gas stations ran out of gas due to a mad rush of people trying to fill up. Lets just feel thankful we do not live in TX.

Andrew also attended the birthday party of Kylie.. my best friend's daughter. They have been friends since birth. She is 8. Izzy our new dog also celebrated her 1st birthday.

Funniest thing: Andrew went to church last Wednesday with our friends the "B.'s". When they returned, I could hear all the kids laughing. I said to Brandi "I guess you all had a great time" She was holding a bag that I thought contained Andrew's art project. Then I saw Andrew with VOMIT all over his face. It was no art project in that bag. Her daughter threw up first, then Andrew, then another all in one car!! YUCK. The smell ughh!. ONE WORD "MEMORIES!!!!" I tried to get her to pose for a picture while holding "the bag" but she declined!

Well I hope my next post will be new photos of Brooke.

So what to send? clothing, 2 disposable cameras, photo album, baby blanket, crinkle book( from me), frog rattle (from Andrew), frog musical toy (from Byron), Bath and Body Works Gel and lotion. Weighing in at 6 pounds (I tried).

FIRST HEARING!!!!!

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

On a day with so much sorrow and grief (9/11), we have great news. We have received NEWS from JOH that our first of three hearings has been scheduled for October 2. This is what our e-mail said:

" Your court hearing date will be on 10/2/08. During the court hearing, the birth mother expresses her adoption decision to the judge. After this, the judge usually signs your first ruling between 1-3 months; sometimes it could be longer or shorter. Program 3 will notify us when the first ruling has issued. Regarding to how the court went, "no news is good news" therefore you won't
receive an email from me except if there is a problem."

We hope we do not hear from Tien (JOH) until our 1st ruling!! Please keep Brooke's birthmother in your prayers.

Camping with Friends!!!

My 2nd favorite photo of summer. Here is M. and Byron behaving like teens on a mission to get "those" who did our friends wrong!! One of the greatest stories of the summer!! We will be talking about this "mission" for years (hahaha). This led to the great pumkin heist. That's all I can say since so many are reading this blog...... (haha)

We have no adoption news. We are hoping to receive an update (new video and photos) sometime around the 15th. So all of our family and friends please subscribe to our blog using the "subscribe to Team Couey" on the right hand side. This will send you an e-mail each time we post to our blog.

Other news: We went camping twice in August. We were finally able to go camping with the F. family again. They are the first family we started camping with five years ago! We always have lots of fun with them. Memories from camping in August.... At our favorite campground Mike found a PUMPKIN..that is all I can say about this without getting into trouble!! He also had a bike accident on the BMX bike track(see photos). We enjoyed Geocaching (go to Geocaching.com for more information), fishing, bingo, campfire, hiking trail and the beach. We also met several families that had left LA to avoid the hurricane. One scary moment was when we we at the BMX track and a tree feel very close to us. There was a man stand were it fell. While it was falling I was yelling RUN, RUN! Our dog Izzy was very upset and barking. The man escaped unharmed. You will see a photo of Andrew standing by the fallen tree. Andrew also caught a big fish (bigger than Byrons)!

Andrew and I have a camping song "Weekend". We always listen to it on our way to our camp site!! I have it on the song list (bottom of page on the right) but it is listed as "keep on smiling" (for some reason). If it is not already playing, go down and click that song before you view our "Smile box" photos. To view the photos click play on the smile box and wait for it to load!
